About
The Helmrich family is a creative bunch! They have taken the Buy Handmade Pledge, and love to make all their gifts for each other.
Leah, now 17, began making jewelry 5 years ago after a fellow RV’ing friend showed her a few of the basics. She took right to it and loved making jewelry for herself, and friends. Shortly after, she started selling it locally. She has since branched into chainmaille, mixed media, wire wrapping and other wire work and is proud to now have her own shop, favmoongirl.etsy.com to display her own unique and spirited spin on handmade jewelry for tweens and teens and anyone young at heart!
Leah, our tremendously talented teen!
Leah’s brother Byron, now age 13, helps out with the family jewelry business in many ways every day. He has become quite adept with the sewing machine and makes all of the handmade recycled envelopes that are used for shipping. He also sews some of the handmade cloth pouches that all jewelry is wrapped in before shipping. Byron has recently taken an interest in metal-smithing, the act of hammering metals used in jewelry making, and is learning the ins and outs of that process as well.
Byron - Rock Climbing Adventurer!
About 3 years ago, Ralph made a necklace for their mom, Karen and got such a charge out of seeing her wear it that he decided to learn more and make more. He specializes in chainmaille and has since then evolved to where he now winds and cuts his own precision jump rings to make the finished product. He makes a high quality product and now has his own shop, unkamensupplies.etsy.com, because of the demand for his handmade jumprings, clasps and other supplies by other jewelry makers!
Ralph, taking a break.
Karen enjoys it all and helps whomever needs it; whether with photographing, test driving, and assisting with creating the marvelous jewelry. She also takes care of the business end of everything, making sure there’s always enough wire and other supplies to keep Ralph, Leah and Byron happy. She maintains their online shops and handles all the sales and shipping – so basically she holds it all together!
Karen - hard at work.
The family calls Livingston, TX, their home, but they have a house near Rolla, Missouri and still manage to spend as much time as they can traveling in their other home, a 40 foot RV. The kids are homeschooled, and always have been. They love being homeschooled and all the great opportunities that they have been given!!!

Have a great day!
Karen,
What a great website. Not much into jewelry for myself but the items you have look marvelous. Amanda and my granddaughters would love them. Keep in touch.
hello.
like both sites (etsy, included).
Question: I want to purchase your 18 gauge solid brass jump rings.
What is 4.5 mm ID v.s 4.5 non-ID. You have a option for 100 at 6.00 and 200 for 10.00. One describes the letters ID. Can you exlpain.
2nd Question: how do you ship? how is my ordered tracked by delivery method?
Thank you,
Giovanni
ID vs OD
Good question! ID stands for inside diameter and OD stands for inside diameter. If you know the gauge and one of these measurements, you can always calculate the other.
All of our handmade jump rings are measured and sold using the inside diameter. Many of our good quality commercially made jump rings are measured and sold using the outside diameter.
Each listing states which way the ring was measured and if you have any questions about what size is best for your application, just ask and we will be happy to give you our best suggestion.
Shipping? We use USPS and usually ship via First Class. For domestic shipments we include complimentary tracking. For international shipments, we can only track to the US boarder unless Express shipping is used.
We can always upgrade shipping to Priority or Express, just let us know your deadline and we will let you know what we can do to help you meet it.
