Hiking In Glacier National Park…It Rocks!

by Leah on August 28, 2009

Ok…so today, we started out at the St Mary’s Travel Center and caught a bus to the Sun Point Trail head. From there it was-”Natural Splendor on the left, Natural Splendor on the right!” and on and on and on! The Sun Point nature trail traces it’s way along the side of St Mary’s lake for about 0.7 miles where you come to the impressive Baring Falls. We decided to continue on so we could see the 2 other falls in the area, St. Mary and Virginia. Both were amazing in their own way- Baring was tall and misty, Leah in front of Baring fallsSt. Mary sheltered and cool, St. Mary's FallsVirginia stepped and intricateVirginia Falls…I still don’t know which I liked more! I do know however that my favorite part of the whole hike was the surreal topaz to indigo color of St. Mary’s lake…I still can’t get over how beautiful it was!

All in all, I think that it ranks as one of my favorite hikes in Glacier…and I can’t wait to do even more!
