We have been seeing them for several days now: motorcycles in full force all heading North by North West. Of course, it’s Bike Week in Sturgis, South Dakota! Funny thing is that we have also seen bikes going away from Sturgis. It seems that the poor economy’s effect on Sturgis hasn’t been to keep bikers away, but rather to force them to come either the week before, when rates aren’t jacked up, or to come just long enough to buy the tee-shirt!
About an hours drive away from the Biker’s Mecca is Wall Drug. They claim to have signs in Kenya, Africa! I have seen them on the East Coast. As you get closer, the signs get closer together until they are every few feet and you just have to pull off and see what this is all about!
This is our second trip here and we highly recommend it! Hard to describe, so just plan a trip yourself! Think of anything you have ever seen in ANY gift shop anywhere, and they got it here!
And this stop is even more fun with all the bikes, and bikers in town! We aren’t headed to Sturgis, just through on our way to Montana.
